Intensive Care Appeal is a Crossfit Rehabilitation Clinic that recently launched and was looking to get exposure for their business online. Their goal was simple: education clients on the benefits of crossfit as a form of improving your health and using it for rehabilitation purposes. As a new company, they had no online brand exposure or awareness, so they had to start from scratch. We came along as an adviser on improving their digital presence – that includes Social, Search and Online Branding. Through the process of working on their business, I came to realize that hundreds of companies go through an inception period similar to that of ICA, and the advice given to them is very applicable to almost anyone. As such, we’ve put together a Case Study on what we did at ICA and how you can replicate it when you eventually launch a business or want to boost your digital footprint.
A social presence has become essential to any company that wants to become well known online. That’s why I am giving you the same advice we gave Intensive Care Appeal: take social media seriously. This means claiming your business page on every channel – Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Youtube just to start. Put work into the biography and images you use to represent your brand. Make them professional and understand the guidelines on each platform. Nothing looks worst than coming out the gate with bad images and confusing copy across your platforms. Once you are out there, work on creating quality content that will be of value to your audience. This will tell them you are legitimate. Lastly, most people forget to engage – your brand is being spoken about so make sure to be part of the conversation.
Despite the huge power of social, search is still king when it comes to organic exposure. Being on the first page of Google can change your business. In order to achieve that, you must first and foremost ensure your website is receptive to the keywords and links you want to rank on Google. This entails you going through your pages and making sure there is little to no duplicate content, keyword density is healthy and your website is in good standing with Google. Then comes the hard part – link creation. Keep in mind that this is a long play, so don’t expect results out the gate. Build relationships in your industry and begin exchanging values with influencers. Eventually this will turn into linking to your site, which will improve your rankings on search. Do this forever, and do it well.
