Plot

2014. The economic zone of Maleppa, where many Asian cultures mix. Shou, who has just turned eight, is one of the street children called "the orphans of Maleppa". Shou, his older brother Shinji and his friend Toshi survive by shoplifting. One day, Shou meets a cursed youth, Kei, and takes him to his hideout.
Soon a tragedy occurs: a man Shou and his friends stole a case full of money from comes to the hideout for revenge. Shou and Toshi run away but Shinji is shot in a leg. It was then Kei kills the man and shows what he really is: a vampire.

Ten years later, Shou is 19 and he, togheter with Kei and Toshi, attacks the local mafia "Rukai" in an attempt to get their money. During the battle they meet a youth, Son, who is also trying to annihilate the Rukai. They become friends and are invited to Son's house, where they meet his younger sister, Yi-che. She has been the target of violence from the Rukai and because of the shock she has become unable to speak. Her dream is becoming an artist so she works in the park painting pictures.

Shou falls in love for Iiche but she falls in love with Kei. Anyway a wonderful time begins for these friends, who had lived so much pain in the past. However, on the day of Yi-Che's art exhibition, another tragedy occurs. An assassin of the Rukai has come in vengeance. Toshi dies. Kei murders the assassin with his power and drinks his blood. Seeing who is Kei, Son and Yi-che are shocked. Before long, Kei disappears.

Another year passes. Shou gathers the migrants of Maleppa and makes a team, planning to take revenge on the assassin who killed Toshi. Also, Shou has married Yi-che and they have a child, Hana. Shinji, who has lost the use of one leg, has got a restaurant. Son has joined the mafia and now stands in opposition to Shou. In the meanwhile, Kei has been arrested and is waiting the death sentence in a jail in another country. While Shou's war on the mafia intensifies, Yi-Che is torn between her husband and her brother. Kei breaks out of prison and returns to Maleppa.
