Before becoming L'Arc~en~Ciel's singer, Hyde was Kidies Bombs'
guitarist. When he changed his role and became the singer, the band changed
his name in Jerusalem's Rod.
In February 1991 Tetsu decides to form a band
with Hiro as guitarist. In the first project, Tetsu had to be L'Arc~en~Ciel's
singer, but when he listens to Jerusalem's Rod's performance, he decides
to ask Hyde if he wants to become part of his band, together with Pero.
The name "L'Arc~en~Ciel" is decided by Tetsu and it's taken
from a French film with that title. In French, Arc en ciel means rainbow. Some times later, Pero and Hiro leave the band and Sakura and Ken
join. L'Arc~en~Ciel's success grow up, but in 1997 Sakura is arrested
for drug's possession and in April he leaves the band. The official
date is 4 November 1997. Tetsu finds a new drummer, Yukihiro (ex-Die in
Cries), who becomes L'Arc~en~Ciel's official drummer on 1 January 1998.
In September 1999, Hyde and Tetsu meet fans in Thailand, Hong Kong and
Taiwan. They are very famous not only in Japan, but also overseas.
25 December 2000: Hyde marries Megumi Ooishi.
In 2002 Laruku decide to begin the solo-projects. Hyde publishes
3 singles: "Angel's Tale", "Evergreen" and "Shallow
Sleep".
The album "Roentgen" and his English version are released
too. The success is sure.
While fans are afraid of a band separation, Hyde & C. go on with
their solo projects. In 2003 Hyde publishes the singles "HELLO"
and "Horizon" and the album "666".
11 Novembre 2003: Hyde & Megumi have a baby.
They have not said baby's sex and name yet.
In March 2004 Laruku finally publish a new album, "SMILE",
followed by a tour. They also decide to try American market, publishing
"Smile" there too. The success is great: many thousands fans
attend the American one-date concert. We have only to hope they will
decide to come in Europe too...
