He was born in Yamanashi, then he moved while still a child with his family in Setagaya.
He has two younger brothers.
When he was a child, he was very active but his character changed when he joined elementary school.
From then, he says, his behaviour didn't change so much. He almost remains very silent and quiet.
He used to play baseball at the junior high school, where he was called "INO".. he was good at playing and his classmates said "Ino run run!!" and from here he's INORAN.
At high school his interest moved to music. He started watching music programs and thought guitarists were "cool" so he wanted to play guitar, too.
The he met J, who was interested in western music, too.
J liked the way he played guitar so decided to make a band, LUNACY.
In 1986 the band was complete, with Shinya and Sugizo from PINOCCHIO and SLAUGHTER's Ryuichi.

In 1997, during break of the group, he went in London to record his album SOU.

In 2002, decided to make a band with the ex vocalist of Oblivion Dust, Ken Lloyd. FAKE? has a different sound from LUNA SEA.
Actually he's working with both groups, FAKE? and TOURBILLON.
